Race for Neptune

Race for Neptune was composed across 2022 and 2023 for the St Leonard’s College Symphonic Wind Ensemble as a fun yet powerful addition to their repertoire. The piece depicts a cinematic race around the solar system, with a tense start, crash landing, and final triumph as the racers reach the freezing planet. Race for Neptune challenges players with shifting time signatures as well as a mix of choral playing and intense staccato sections.
